Hi, I'm Tom. I am a person-centered counsellor.

But what does that mean to you?
Being a person-centered counsellor means you are at the center of the work that we do together.
I believe that you as a person are the expert on your life and your lived experiences, this means that you know what is best for you, I am not the expert, I am here to support you in finding your own way.

I create a warm, safe, open and none judgmental space where we can work together to support you to explore your unique personal challenges, both past and present.
You are the expert in your life and I am available to help you navigate, explore, and manage any emotions or concerns you may have throughout your self-exploration journey.

I work with both adults and young people, offering sessions both face to face or via remote sessions such as video calls (teams) Whichever makes you feel comfortable.
" I am passionate about what I do. To be a counsellor and working with different people everyday with their own unique personal challenges, gives me pure joy knowing that I'm helping them work towards improving their lives "
I enlisted in the military in 2006, at 16 years old. I served for 6 years and served in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.

In 2012, I was medically discharged from the army due to injuries sustained during my service in Afghanistan.

Coming home from Afghanistan and returning to civilian life was very difficult for me. I found myself struggling with depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug use. Fortunately, I had the support of my friends and family to help me get through this period.

I also sought help from a counsellor who help me to explore what was going on for me, to understand these struggles, and to learn how to move through them.

These difficult times helped me realise that my purpose and passion in life is to help others, I want to ensuring that anyone facing difficult times knows that they are not alone in their struggles and that help is on hand. Facing these challenges was one of the key motivating factors that led me to become a psychologist and counsellor.
